Mr Cooper’s opens at The Midland Hotel with branding, web design and print from Ahoy

Mr Cooper’s House and Garden is the second venture for two-Michelin-star chef Simon Rogan in Manchester. Located in the landmark Midland Hotel, part of the QHotels family, the restaurant and bar is and opened its doors on Thursday 12th September 2013. Mr Cooper’s 150-cover restaurant is inspired by a diverse range of ingredients from across the world. The destination bar comprises of an opulent library with leather booths and low level lighting.

We worked closely with The Midland to develop a name based on the historical local philanthropist Mr Cooper, whose house and gardens sat on the site in 1819. Imagery for the brand was carried out by photographer Matt Walford who developed a kaleidoscopic theme that embraced the magical feel of Mr Coopers whilst touching on the heritage and opulence of The Midland and the restaurants link to nature and organic produce.

We carried out a range of design and print services from business stationery and invites for the launch event to a series of menus including mains, wine, children’s and a 20-page cocktail menu.

We knew a high number of users were expected to access the site on a mobile device, therefor we built a fully responsive, Content Management System (CMS) site as a result, with full page imagery that seamlessly integrates with the booking system, providing a smooth customer experience from start to finish.

Mike Magrane, General Manager at The Midland Hotel said: “We have enjoyed an on-going relationship with Ahoy and continue to work with the team due to the creativity and high quality of the work they produce. They really understood what we were trying to achieve with Mr Coopers and have come up with some fantastic ideas that strongly support the whole concept.’’
